About this piece
A spider's web, crocheted by hand and worn. The front is a single web that radiates out from a knot at the centre, the sleeves fall wide and open from the shoulder, and the hem finishes in deep scallops that follow the last round of the web.
It is not a crop top and not a costume. It is an open-work layering piece - worn over a cami, a slip dress or a bralette - and it reads as deliberate rather than seasonal.
How it is made
Ruksar works each piece from a single centre outwards, so the web lines up without a seam down the front. Nothing is pre-made: yours is started after you order, in the colour and size you choose.
Fit
Size to your usual fit - the open stitch has give. The neckline is a wide boat that sits off the shoulder, and the hem falls at the high hip. If you are between sizes, or want a longer body or a wider sleeve, tell us on WhatsApp before we start. Made-to-measure costs nothing extra.
Layering
Open-work throughout and unlined, so it is made to be layered. The photographs show it over a black cami with wide-leg trousers; a slip dress underneath turns it into evening wear.

Is this a crop top?
No. It sits at the high hip with a scalloped hem, and the sleeves are long and flared. Most spiderweb crochet tops you will find are cropped or halter-style - this one is not.
What do I wear under it?
It is open-work and unlined, so it is made for layering - a black cami, a slip dress or a bralette. The photographs show it over a black cami with wide-leg trousers.
How long will it last?
Years, if you hand wash it cold and dry it flat. What ruins a crochet top is wringing it out or hanging it up wet, not wearing it.
